More and more football fans are turning to "concept" jerseys rather than the official versions sold in sports stores. But in practical terms, what is the difference, and why does this choice make so much sense today?
The official jersey
This is the jersey produced under license by the club or national team's kit manufacturer (Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc.). It adheres to the design approved by the club, features official logos and sponsors, and its price reflects the licensing fees: expect to pay between €90 and €130 for a printed adult jersey.
The concept jersey
A concept jersey is an original creation, imagined by independent designers based on the visual identity of a club or national team: colors, crest, and general spirit. It is not an official reproduction, but a free reinterpretation, often more creative and surprising than what kit manufacturers dare to offer.
The real differences
- Price: without licensing fees, a concept jersey is generally 2 to 4 times cheaper than an official one
- Design: total creative freedom, with colors and patterns that you will never see on an official jersey
- Rarity: original designs that aren't seen on every street corner, unlike the official jersey of the moment
- Customization: most of our concept jerseys can be customized with the name and number of your choice
Which one to choose?
If you are looking for a collector's item strictly faithful to what the players wear on the pitch, the official jersey remains the gold standard. But if you want an original jersey to wear daily as a streetwear piece, at a much more accessible price, the concept jersey is for you.
